With the posting of the banner for this new episode, I thought I'd open up a forum on it, so the speculation can begin. And of course, when you finish reading this episode, feel free to comment on it here.

haha what in the world is Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendan) doing on Firefly?!?! it makes sense Whedon would do something like that, heck Nathan, Gina, and Adam were all on his other shows, so by god awesome choice...now i'm interested as to what part he is gonna play. no typecasting right??? i can't wait till tomorrow.

Well we all knew Book would be leaving, and given the title, seemed like this would tell that story. And I thought it was very well done. I was rather moved by his announcement and how he said goodbye to everyone. _________________ The film Drunken Master II does not encourage consumption of alcohol. |

yeah, I think Shephard's send off is really well done. I dunno. I liked it alot! I mean every single epi I've read has been awesome and it definately goes for this one as well, but something was missing. I can't explain it and because I can't I really can't find a way to complain. It was very well written and a very important episode for the story arch, but something about it felt...off. you know? but beyond that I think it did very well in telling the story and I really liked Zach...wonder if we'll be getting more of him later...
Inara seemed so...not there. haha poor girl had no spotlight the entire epi. I'm guessing she'll be getting plenty soon since the epi did forshadow her inevitable leave.
SPOILERS*****in case i didn't already give some away...
HAHAH Shepard punched Mal; by far the coolest thing I've ever read. it's funny looking back on it, but when I was reading it i was just thinking....damn....and then Mal just takes it....DAMN!!! haha.
grr...this is the part I hate...having to wait again for the next episode...curse you time!

really good episode, heart-jerkingly sad ending I wasn't expecting Book to leave this early in the season. |

Whew. I'm glad so far everyone's liked it. Kari and I worked really hard on the ep, and our Real Lives kept interfering.
Kari is responsible for Zach, really. So all the cuteness is thanks to her. His flirting with Kaylee was mine, though. _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know that I'm a bit late commenting on the episode, but for some reason I never got around to posting on it when it first came out. Anyway, I really liked it; Shepherd Book's lead up to leaving the ship seemed a lot more believable than it did in the comics (see FOX? This is why we needed more than half a season!). It'll be nice to get back to the other characters though; I love Book, but between Haven and The Road to Damascus, I've missed getting episodes from the other crew members points of view.
Bye Book - hope you enjoy your 1/2 year of peace in Haven before Joss's cruel Serenity-writing pen does you in.
Next episode title is to be announced? Ooh, color me intrigued. Next week can't come soon enough. _________________ Wash: Yes, Jayne. She's a witch. She has had congress with the beast.
